About WCIFWorld Cultural Industry Forum

A World United Through Culture,
Culture Universe

The World Cultural Industry Forum (WCIF) brings together artists, creators, producers, business leaders, and experts from Asia and the West to exchange and collaborate, contributing to the development of the global music and entertainment industry and to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the future of humanity.

WCIF's vision is a world united through culture: the Culture Universe. Centered on the music and entertainment industry, the forum gathers artists, creators, producers, experts, and entrepreneurs to discuss the development of the cultural industry and global prosperity, building cooperative networks among content creators, producers, and distributors, and promoting mutual exchange between the music cities of Asia and the West.

The influence of the cultural industry on world peace and human happiness, beyond the economy, is expected to grow ever larger. With the global spread of Korean Wave content such as K-pop, dramas, and films, Asia's role continues to expand. WCIF responds to this global trend and leads international cooperation for the shared prosperity of East and West in the music and entertainment industry of the digital and AI era.

Greeting

The World Cultural Industry Forum was launched in 2019, building on the Korea Cultural Industry Forum founded in 2002. Its purpose is to bring together producers, business leaders, and experts from Asia and the West to exchange, collaborate, and contribute to human prosperity through the development of the cultural industry.

Today, the development of information technology and social networks is broadening cultural empathy across the world. As that empathy grows, culture's influence on world peace and human happiness, as well as on the economy, continues to expand. Since the 2000s, Korea has developed its cultural industry through the global phenomenon of the Korean Wave in dramas, films, games, and music, deepening the cultural bond between Asia and the West.

Our planet now faces serious crises from climate change and the threat of war. In such times, humanity must build warm communities founded on peace and love, and culture can play the central role of connecting human hearts.

Beyond economic development, the World Cultural Industry Forum addresses a broad range of topics including mutually beneficial international cooperation, the sustainability of our planet, and the future of education, contributing to world peace and the common prosperity of humankind.
